Allendale Governors Bay Fête - 19 October 2025

On Sunday 19th October, Sumner Silver Band blew away the cobwebs (and nearly our sheet music!) as we kicked off our spring season at the Allendale Governors Bay Fête.

This annual extravaganza just keeps getting bigger, better, and bouncier — the car park was jam-packed with families keen to browse stalls, sample every food truck in sight, clamber into fire engines, and cheer on brave local councillors and whānau members as they got a good dunking!

A cracking start to the season — here’s to more sunny gigs (and fewer flying scores)!

We were delighted to provide the soundtrack to the day — though a few rogue gusts of wind tried to add some unplanned choreography to our music stands. After all that brass-blowing and note-catching, the band made a well-deserved pit stop at the Ōtoromiro Hotel to, ahem, “re-hydrate.”
