King’s Birthday at Ferrymead Heritage Park - 1st June 2025

As resident brass band of Ferrymead Heritage Park we were delighted to be back performing at the park over the King’s Birthday weekend

Despite being the first day of winter the weather was kind to us - a little chilly first thing, but clear skies and sunny throughout.

The holiday weather brought the crowds, and the park was humming with the trams and the railway doing a roaring trade. The trains had to put on additional open wagons to cater for everyone who wanted a ride.

The band attracted a sizeable audience over our three sets, and took the opportunity in the start of the playout to perform the three pieces we will be playing at National Brass Band Championships to be held in Christchurch Town Hall (James Hay Theatre) on Saturday 6th July.
