He Rā Whakamīharo at Ferrymead Historic Park

We enjoyed a truly special morning at Ferrymead Historic Park, where our open rehearsal brought together members, manuhiri, and friends from across the motu.

🌅 A Beautiful Start to the Day

From 10:30am, our members — along with several talented visitors — shared a series of heartfelt solo performances. The atmosphere was relaxed, supportive, and full of creativity. It was the perfect way to ease into the day and celebrate the individual strengths within our musical whānau.

🎺 Full Band Rehearsal with Our Hoa Pūoro

At 11:30am, we shifted into a full band rehearsal, joined by our hoa pūoro from Ashburton, Addington, Rangiora, and beyond. Playing through new repertoire together brought incredible energy and wairua to the room. Smiles, laughter, and that unmistakable buzz of shared music-making filled the space.

🥗 Kai, Kōrero, and Connection

We wrapped up the morning with a relaxed shared lunch — a chance to kōrero, reconnect with old friends, and warmly welcome new ones into the fold. These moments of community are just as important as the music itself.

💛 Ngā Mihi Nui

A huge thank you to everyone who joined us, contributed their time and talent, and helped make the morning so enjoyable. Your presence and enthusiasm are what keep our musical community thriving.

Ngā mihi,
