Trinity Sunday at St Augustine’s

What a lot of bass players!

What a wonderful morning for the Sumner Silver Band at St Augustine’s Church in Cashmere. The band performed the hymns with real confidence and elegance, and as always we were made incredibly welcome by Reverend Kofe and the whole congregation.

Cornet Lineup Sumner Silver Band

The trombone section. Actually behaving quite well.

We were treated to two beautiful solo moments:

Our dear friend from Addington Brass, Ron Vereen, with a sublime interpretation of Simple Song by Leonard Bernstein

Ron Vereen performs ‘simple song’

Our own tenor horn player, John Sturgeon, offering a moving Ave Maria during communion...

John Sturgeon performs ‘Ave Maria’ for communion

Both accompanied by our multi-talented Bb Bass player and organist Loki Kristianson

A special morning of music, warmth, and community.
