The Governors Bay community Christmas Carols 2025

The Governors Bay community Christmas Carols were a joyful success, with the Sumner Silver Brass Band bravely playing through the rain to bring some real wairua Kirihimete to the residents of Governors Bay. This year’s event was held at Cholmondeley House, and a special thank you goes to our wonderful drummer, Polly Tiplady, who did a fantastic job filling in on the drum kit.

We’d also like to give a heartfelt mihi nui to the Governors Bay Community Association for their support in bringing this kaupapa to life for our community.

There was plenty of excitement as Santa arrived on a fire engine, bringing lots of lollies for the tamariki. The band wrapped up the day with a well‑deserved get‑together at the Otoromiro Hotel, enjoying some time together after spreading so much hari throughout the community.
